UFC No.4 lightweight Dustin Poirier is one of the most decorated fighters in the 155-pound weight class. Despite being one of the longest-tenured fighters in the UFC, Poirier has never been linked to steroid use.

The Diamond is a former interim UFC lightweight champion and a two-time title challenger. The 35-year-old from Lafayette, Louisiana owns an MMA record of 30-8-1 with 15 knockouts and 8 submission victories.

Prior to his UFC 291 BMF title fight against Justin Gaethje, Poirier received his “75 clean tests” pin from the UFC’s then-doping partner USADA. The pin was presented to Poirier by UFC Vice President for Athlete Health and Performance Jeff Novitzky a couple of days before UFC 291.

In 2022, Poirier and McGregor went back and forth on social media again. McGregor made fun of a photo of Poirier’s staph infection which caused him to be hospitalised.

“Karma the left paw an all haha chop that thing off keep it for Halloween pal hahahaha,” McGregor wrote.

Dustin didn’t let McGregor’s words pass by. He replied by insinuating that The Notorious is on steroids: “You done filming Roid House already to get slapped around again?”

Last year, Poirier took a shot at McGregor again, when it was rumoured that the UFC might waive the 6-month requirement for fighters to be in its drug testing pool to pave the way for McGregor’s return, Poirier reacted.

“We’ll see what happens,” Poirier said to MMANews. “I’m not s****ing on the UFC, and I’m not s****ing on USADA. I don’t want to accuse or say things about either company without them making an official decision.”

“I don’t know what they’re going to do with Conor and the drug testing thing. But if they do allow him to compete without drug testing, they’re making a whole joke of USADA.”
