Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has seamlessly transitioned into the alluring Hollywood spotlight after landing a top role to star in FX’s next big series.

Before this season, few outside of the realm of American football knew the name Travis Kelce. An NFL superstar in his own right, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is a three-time Super Bowl champion and widely regarded as one of the best players of all time.

But his enduring stardom reached stratospheric new heights after a high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift became one of the central narratives of the 2023/24 season, with the global singer frequently spotted in the crowd for Kelce’s games… and now he’s set to reach an entirely new level of fame with his upcoming project.

Travis Kelce has been cast in his first breakthrough acting role in Ryan Murphy’s new FX horror series Grotesquerie. According to Deadline, the 34-year-old will star alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville in the upcoming series although further details on the cast and script have been kept firmly under wraps.

The KC Chiefs star has quietly been searching for his big break after signing with LA-based talent and sports agency Creative Arts Agency this time last year. Kelce became the 34th athlete to host the cult comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live in March 2023 and has a celebrated podcast series alongside his brother Jason Kelce.

Of course, it’s not the first time that an American football star has continued to make plays on the silver screen after retiring from the game.

Take Dwayne Johnson as a prime example; the former WWE Champion played college football in Miami for years before following his father’s footsteps into entertainment as a professional wrestler, transitioning to acting parts as he stepped out of the ring. The Rock, as he’s affectionately known, is now one of the highest-paid actors in the world… no pressure then, Travis.
