Valtteri Bottas Checks Into Rehab In St. Tropez During Formula 1 Break

Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas is seemingly enjoying some downtime, launching himself off luxury yachts and cycling through the nearby hills that line the Saint-Tropez coastline ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend.

It’s been a disappointing ‘debut’ season for the newly branded Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, with our honorary Australian driver Valtteri Bottas and teammate Zhou Guanyu failing to finish in the points after 12 races, firmly placed on the bottom of the Driver Standings.

They’re the only team on the grid that has failed to score, and with a resurgent Nico Hülkenberg driving Haas up the standings, Kick Sauber risks their worst finish in seven years. It’s led Bottas to check into Rehab during a break in the Formula 1 season… sort of.

Posting to his 4.4 million Instagram followers, the Finnish driver can be seen jumping into the picture-perfect blue waters of the Porte de Saint-Tropez, a coastal town just 100km west of the iconic Monaco Grand Prix. Swimming behind a luxury yacht called “Rehab”, Bottas takes a well-deserved break from the racing circuit before lights out at the Hungaroring this weekend where he’ll no doubt hope to put some first points on the board for his team.

Bottas, who boasts his own reputation as a keen cyclist beyond the paradigms of the Formula 1 track, was joined by his Australian partner Tiffany Cromwell and the pair saddled up for a scenic ride through the hillside terrains of the French Riviera.
