French footballer Kylian Mbappé has made headlines in recent months after completing his astronomical move to Spanish champions Real Madrid. His latest move sees the 25-year-old add yet another string to his bow, but this time, it’s not his skills on the football pitch.

Kylian Mbappé may not be earning the same money since leaving Paris Saint-Germain, relatively speaking, completing his move to Real Madrid this Euro summer and ending years of speculation surrounding his future in the French capital.

Despite the financial shift, the French superstar is maintaining his focus on his growing business portfolio. His latest announcement reveals a sensational purchase that will continue his pursuit of interests in his home country, France.

How much did Kylian Mbappé invest in SM Caen?

According to LeParisien, Mbappé has invested close to €20 million ($33 million AUD) to buy 80% of shares in Stade Malherbe de Caen, the Ligue 2 football club that tracked his development for three years as a youngster. If not for conditions prohibiting clubs from signing such young players, Caen would have been Mbappé’s first team as a teenager, instead of AS Monaco.

This purchase makes the 25-year-old the youngest club owner in world football. However, you won’t find Mbappé in the boss’s office in Normandy. Instead, it’s reported that Mbappé and his mother and agent, Fayza Lamari, plan to retain the services of current CEO Ziad Hammoud.

Mbappé’s long-term investment in SM Caen reflects a growing trend of professional athletes reinvesting their riches into available opportunities across football and beyond. As he continues to make headlines both on and off the pitch, Kylian Mbappé is proving that his influence extends far beyond his remarkable skills as a player.
