Australian superstar Daniel Ricciardo has signed on as a producer for an upcoming Hulu comedy series centred around the high-stakes world of Formula 1.
Following in the footsteps of the seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo has added yet another string to his bow, agreeing to an executive producer role for a new Hulu comedy series, Downforce.
The series, from the minds of Silicon Valley creators Alec Berg and Adam Countee, has reportedly received a pilot order from the streamer and follows the story of a Formula 1 racing team heiress who finds herself back in the driving seat of the family business and faced with building the future of a championship-winning team.

Details regarding Ricciardo’s role are yet to be revealed, though it’s understood that the Visa Cash App Red Bull driver’s enduring status within the sport – and immeasurable North American appeal – were considerable factors leading to his appointment, as the series looks to deliver a funny, yet authentic, narrative from the world of Formula 1.
This comes after Mercedes driver and F1 GOAT Lewis Hamilton revealed his involvement in Brad Pitt’s next feature film Apex, a story about Sonny Hayes, an experienced driver returning to the grid to help his rookie teammate that’s set to stream on Apple TV+ later this year.
