Australian star Daniel Ricciardo is seemingly enjoying a short break from the gruelling Formula 1 season, putting the heartbreak in Shanghai behind him for a spot of padel with comedian Andrew Schulz.


An unfortunate crash at the Chinese Grand Prix ended Visa Cash App Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo’s race at the worst time, with the 8-time Grand Prix winner sitting in a comfortable position at the restart and on course to secure his first points of the season.

However, fate had other plans, and Ricciardo found himself shifting his focus to Miami, the inaugural race of three North American circuits on the Formula 1 calendar… but he still managed to squeeze in some time for padel in New York just days before lights out this weekend.

Catching up with his friend, the comedian Andrew Schulz, Ricciardo struck an elated figure at Padel Haus, a premium padel sports centre with locations scattered in Williamsburg and Brooklyn, New York, after winning a point on the court.

Of course, on the Formula 1 track, Ricciardo is equally as competitive. The VCARB driver is desperately hunting for his first points of the season and with the Miami Grand Prix just a handful of days away, the Australian man will relish the opportunity to line up in this race, a year on from his untimely stint on the sidelines, and kickstart his 2024 season.
