Erceg is slated to challenge Alexandre Pantoja for the UFC flyweight title at the main event of UFC 301 on 4 May 2024. UFC 301 will take place at the Farmassi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The bout will mark the first time that Erceg will fight for a UFC belt and also the first time that he will headline a UFC event.

The 28-year-old Erceg began his MMA career in his native land. His first professional MMA bout was against Ryan Robertson at CDL Super Card on 12 February 2016.

After winning his pro debut, Erceg hit a snag when he was beaten by Sean Gauci in his second MMA bout at Hex Fight Series. He bounced back one fight later, defeating Choi Seung-guk at Hex Fight Series 15 to improve to 2-1.

Astro Boy then decided to take his talents to the Eternal MMA promotion where he first fought as a bantamweight. He returned to flyweight in his second bout and then went on to become the promotion’s flyweight champion at Eternal MMA 52. Erceg ran his winning streak in Eternal MMA to 8 bouts. That’s when he got the contract from the UFC.

Armed with a 9-1 record, he made his UFC debut at UFC 289 where he won Performance of the Night Honors after defeating David Dvorak. Erceg has since won two fights inside the Octagon. He registered a points win over Alessandro Costa at UFC 295 and then scored a sensational one-punch knockout of veteran Matt Schnell in his most recent bout at UFC Fight Night 238.
