It’s safe to say that Georges St. Pierre is enjoying his time off since retiring from MMA nearly five years… but the GOAT continues to have fun in his life after sport.

Most recently, GSP went back to his hometown of Saint-Isidore, Montérégie, Quebec in Canada to visit his parents.

St. Pierre posted photos of himself and his father Roland while playing a ‘competitive’ game of checkers. While the St. Pierre Boys were playing the board game, his mum Pauline could be seen in the background in her apron probably preparing a sumptuous meal for them.

Before he entered mixed martial arts, the young Georges skated and played hockey. And during his recent trip to his hometown, GSP enjoyed the snow by testing what he dubbed as the new Saint-Isidore Slope.

Considering he gave up playing in the snow for fighting inside the cage a long time ago, St. Pierre showed he still had it and more importantly, he had a good time, which is always good to see from someone whose struggles with OCD was one of the reasons why he walked away from the sport he dominated.

Georges St. Pierre is considered by many as the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. Known as ‘Rush’, St. Pierre is one of only nine fighters to win two championships in different weight classes in the UFC

St. Pierre was a three-time UFC welterweight champion who once held the record for most wins in a title bout (13). He currently has the third-longest individual reign at 2,064 days, in which he made 9 consecutive successful title defences.

After leaving the sport in 2013 following a controversial win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167, he returned as a middleweight. He submitted Michael Bisping at UFC 217 in 2017 to become the middleweight champion. GSP vacated the belt after 34 days after he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. He also battled depression due to OCD which eventually forced him to officially announce his retirement in 2019.

Since retirement, St. Pierre has been living his life to the fullest. There were several instances when it was rumoured that GSP was going to make a comeback. But he’s always stated that he’s happily retired and enjoying his life as an actor, influencer, businessman, and Elon Musk’s buddy. Yes, Musk trained with GSP when he prepared for the fight that never happened against Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.
